As a Newborn photographer how do I get babies to smile? There is no big secret on how to make a newborn smile. Babies will smile from tickling to passing gas. Laura has a lot of experience with newborns and smiles. Training and experience help.

Laura commits to learning with other newborn photographers. She is constantly watching live steams or online training. The truth is, this is her passion and that often helps create the mood for joy. As a photographer I am constantly growing thats what we do. Laura will not blog about her countless hours of newborn photography, but I will. Laura takes such pride and joy in having you in her studio. She loves newborns and baby photography, so making the baby comfortable, feeling safe, thats where the smiles come from. Babies are  little treasures, I remember my own children smiling as babies.

Some Newborn baby smiles come from the noises we make to them. We can all act pretty silly when trying to make a child smile. Truthfully your best smiles will come later on when its more intentional from both you and the baby. The tenderness of the newborn smile is something much more peaceful. A newborn baby smiling is a small gift from above reminding us that it is all very, very good.

This brings me to my last point on a newborn photographer getting a baby to smile. The joy and celebration of being in this moment as a family. When we find that resting place in the moment, being with this beautiful magnificent unique creation, that is the calm and peace that often helps produce smiles.
